How do bees Make honey?
W.A.L.T write an explanation piece of writing.
Did you know that honey bees must gather nectar from two million flowers a day to make one pound of honey to sell at shops?
Bees collect nectar in spring. The bees like to get the nectar from flowers in bloom. They suck the nectar out of the flower using their proboscis (tongue).
The bees store the nectar in their tummies until they return to their hive , then they spite it into the working bees mouths and chew it until it is sticky.
The bees flap their wings to make the honey dry. They stick the honey in the honeycomb and stick a wax lid on top. This keeps it protected.
Once honey is produced by bees it is collected by bee keepers who prepare it for to buy at many shops.

Maidin Maith Regan,
ReplyDeleteYour blog post was really great!
I loved how you told us every single step for how bees make honey.
I think bees are in every country, because there would be no plants or people if it weren’t for bees.
